ABOUT MERCEDES
My artwork is about combining precious metals, such as 24k gold, platinum, silver etc. reversed on glass. I love working with these materials for their delicacy and strength. Combining these materials is satisfying for me because of its shimmering and mirror-like reflections that make my stained glass windows change depending on the morning, day and evening light. Also depending on the angle from which you look at it. There is a mystery behind these paintings, even for me as an artist. When I paint my faces on the back of the glass, they come to life on their own on the opposite side. A facial expression can be completely different when it is reflected in reverse.
And for the furniture art, I create what I myself dream of owning. Outstanding unique furniture to add style and personality to your home. Home is where art is.
